I have a vivid imagination and sometimes it is very evident in my dreams. I understand that alot of people don't remember their dreams but I always do. Last night I had a nightmare that I was in this house and my cousin Cynthia and another lady were sitting on the back porch beckoning me to come outside when a man walked up with a rocket launcher and aimed it at the house.
I took off running to get my baby from another room (she was already in a car seat for some reason) I go down some steps and into a basement where there is a false wall that leads to a underground tunnel. I get on a golf cart and ride the tunnel all the way to the end which leads me to the basement of another house miles away. When I exit the tunnel and enter the basement I am dressed in the way of a muslim woman in a Middle Eastern Country. I get into a car that is parked in the garage and I leave. I drive about four hundred miles where I stop to buy a disposable phone from a 7-11. I think about calling this guy but for some reason I start thinking he is the one that set me up to be killed so I don't call him and make sure to throw away my personal cell phone. I drive until I get to a Carmax where I sell the car I had been driving. I purchase another vehicle from a different dealership for some reason my diaper is full of money. Once I get the new car I change clothes, feed the baby and drive until I get to a secluded house a couple hundred miles away. The door is opened by this man who I seem to know. He tells me that everyone thinks that me and my daughter died in that house and that it is good because we can live with him and I won't have to worry about anyone being after me.
When I woke up from this dream I could feel my body trembling from the fear I felt in the dream. So that is what I dreamed last night.

Merry Christmas
I wish you all and blessed and beautiful Christmas. I have learned a valuable lesson in the last 24 hours. Life is not promised to you so live everyday like it will be your last.
To those of you that I call friend or family. I love you all. 2009 is going to be a powerful year for me and I look forward to sharing my life with you all and meeting new positive people.
I have made the decision to return to school in the upcoming year and majoring in either English or journalism. I feel that I was born to be a writer and the time is now.
As the song says "THIS IS MY NOW

Goodbye Friend
Sandra died today, and I was glad that her suffering is over, but I miss her. Throughout her battle I just knew that she would be alright and for a small amount of time she was. I don't think I ever told San that I loved her but I really do. Not many people get close to my heart but she did. She is the kind of big sister that every girl should have.
My heart aches because I just knew we would get to take that cruise when she got better, Me, her, She and Vera we were going to take a cruise and have the time of our lives but Cancer changed that. I have not cried yet and I imagine that is because it has not sank in that she is gone. One should never question GOD but I wonder if someone put the wrong name on the list, there was much for her to do and for us to learn together. In my heart I know San has gone to heaven and will look out for Vera and Mariah, I just wish we could have had one more talk, just one more. She was so funny and could always make me laugh.
I love you San. I will do my best to take care of Vera for you.

Sorrow
My friend is dying and there is nothing that anyone but God can do about it. Truthfully I have not seen "S" since earlier in the year like April I think. She looked good then, heavier than she had ever been but she looked good.
ALthough I have not seen her she has been on my mind and in my heart all of the time. She is too young to die and apart of me finds it unfair but who am I to question God's decision to bring her back home. She fought hard to beat breast cancer and won, now there is the brain cancer. The doctors have decided that there is nothing more that they can do.
I am angry at them for giving up on her, but I realize that she has given up as well and that saddens me. I do understand her being weary and not having the energy to fight for her life again.
I love her like one of my sisters and I don't want to say goodbye to her, I just want to remember the good times that we had together. I pray that her passing is painless for her.

I am back
I had not made a post because I had taken a placement of two small children. 22months and six months. I did not take long for me to realize that I had made a mistake, I could not handle two children at one time.
I kept them for two weeks before they moved this past friday to another home. Although I know that I made the right decision it still hut to let go of them. I took plenty of picture of them before I let them go but it was still so painful.
I have no doubt about my desire to continue fostering but I need to regroup after letting go.
I have decided to take one child at a time for here on out.

new people in my life
Hello,
On Tuesday I received the placement of two small children one boy and one girl. I must say that I don't know what I was thinking. Just going to the bank today was an adventure onto itself.
I am going to give it some time before I decide what to do.

Book Review: Reckless by Selena Montgomery
I just finished reading Reckless by Selena Montgomery and honestly the book was really good until it got to the end. Let me say I was livid. The book simply ends there is no conclusion to the story at all, it safe to assume that the book will pick with the story of the other two characters Julia and Fin but that is not the way to end a book.
If I could call Selena Montgomery right now, I would be demanding to know how the story ends. How can you be so cruel to leave a book hanging this way.
It remains to be seen if I will purchase the other two books that are coming to find out what happens because right now I am a little ticked.

Some things only happen to me
Most of the people who read my blog come from adoption.com where I get a ton of support from, already know this story.
My first real placement was Little Race Car Boy, he was 4 and a cutie. I got him on Wednesday evening and on Friday he had a visit with his mother. He was taken from the CPS office by the mother. She later relinquished him to the police but he was not returned to me. At first I was not sure if I would continue to foster but I realize that this is a calling on my life from GOD and I can not walk away from that.
I have sent a email to my agency advising that I am ready for a new placement. I got a call a few minutes ago from the worker checking to see if I am okay. I told her that I am okay and ready for a new child.
So the journey continues

Maya Angelou
I just found out that Maya Angelou has a new book called Letter to My Daughter. In truth, Ms. Angelou has no daughter, she is instead referring to all of us who have read her books. I myself have read all of her books and to this day say that The Heart of a Woman is my favorite book.
I will be picking this book up as soon as possible because I intend to pass her books on to my children. They will be required reading..

I LOVE KIDS, But I hate the holiday season!!!
The holidays are hard because of all the get-togethers with all of the kids. Christmas is harder than all of the others because I want so bad to have my own children. When I watch the kids open their presents, a part of me dies on the inside. I understand that some people won't understand and if you have never heard the words "you will never have children" from a doctor's mouth then you won't understand the pain.
I love kids and I have always wanted my own, despite everyone who thought I should enjoy my freedom. Whatever that means. I look forward to the day that I get the child god has prepared for me.
The other night I had this dream about a little girl. In the dream we were having a family reunion with my father's side of the family, this little girl (not sure of her age but she looked to be a toddler) came through the door with a bag and a box of cereal (I don't know why). The cereal box had three prices on them 4.29, 3.29, and then 8.29. I was fussing about people taking advantage of a little kid and telling my family that I would take care of her. Weird I know. I remember the dream but I can not remember her face. But I felt like she belonged with me.
I keep remembering the scripture that says: Whom shallever receive this children, not only receive them but receives me.
That is a quote on the website of my adoption agency and I recall it at odd times. I know that God does things in his time and he is preparing me at this time, I just feel so close that I can feel her in my soul but I can not for the life of me touch her.

Adoption Train
I am going insane, I am so tired of waiting for a placement. I have been purusing the boards on adoption.com and have received amazing support. I know that I have to take it one day at a time.
I see so many people on there that have gotten kids and don't have their license yet why can't that be me..

secretlifeofbees

I saw this movie last night and I really liked it. It was sappy in some parts and sad in others but the message was good and I loved seeing Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys and Sofie and Trista in the movies. I must say that I knew nothing about the movie prior to seeing it so I had no idea that I was looking at Dakota Fanning until the credits rolled. She has grown and she played the hell out of this role.
If she remains true to herself she will grow into a force to be reckoned with.

My Favorite Ten Songs Right now
My 10 Favorite Songs, What are yours?
I love music as much as I love reading books. One thing for sure is that the songs I love usually have great lyrics. So if you check out my music player it has some interesting songs playing there. (i wonder how many of you will call me out about the country song playing on my page)
So here is the thing: I want to know your TOP 10 Favorite Songs of ALL Time! And Why do you Love IT!
Mine are crazy but here goes:
1. Can You Stand The Rain by New Edition - everything about this song is beautiful like: 'sunny days, everybody loves them but baby can you stand the rain'
2. I'm Still in Love With You by New Edition - I swear they won't all be by New Edition - I think the title says it all
3. Teach Me by Musiq - I just discovered this song not too long ago. Although it was on my mp3 player I had never really listed to it. But OMG!
part of the lyrics state: Teach me how to love, show me the way to surrender my heart, girl I'm so lost, teach me how to love, how I can get my emotions involved"
4. Atomic Dog - George Clinton ( I will not explain this one because those of you who know me know why I love it (right Kell)
5. Beach Chair/Song Cry by JayZ - I could not choose between these two songs because they are my two favorite songs by JayZ. If you have not heard Beach Chair download it today.
6. Me by Tamia - this song is so on point.. it the song you should play when you are getting ready to dump some sorry fool who took you for granted
7. Flaws and All - by Beyonce - no explanation necessary
8. You Are My Friend by Patti LaBelle- Because it reminds me that I have friends who love me and that I love them back
9. My Joy by Leela James - she is saying that there is no way she is going to let him steal her joy. She is over him. Need a further explaination? Thought not.
10. If I Had My Way by Chrisette Michelle - I am so loving this song to the point that I have to hear it once a day. my favorite line is: /'Please don't whisper anything else in my ear/my body, my soul is high/ Let me find the strength to get on up outta here

Patience
Still no baby at this point and it is starting to drive me insane. However I regained my writing mojo and have had some greats ideas. Most of them are thrillers or suspense in novel speak, something I never gave much credit to. I always thought that I would only write romance but my characters don't come to me that way.

You Are An INTP |
The Thinker You are analytical and logical - and on a quest to learn everything you can. Smart and complex, you always love a new intellectual challenge. Your biggest pet peeve is people who slow you down with trivial chit chat. A quiet maverick, you tend to ignore rules and authority whenever you feel like it. In love, you are an easy person to fall for. But you're not an easy person to stay in love with. Although you are quite flexible, you often come off as aloof or argumentative. At work, you are both a logical and creative thinker. You are great at solving problems. You would make an excellent mathematician, programmer, or professor. How you see yourself: Creative, fair, and tough-minded When other people don't get you, they see you as: arrogant, cold, and robotic |

Adoption Update
I have done everything required by the state and the agency and i am still waiting to be matched with a child. for the talk of needing african american parents where is this abundance of children I keep hearing about. I have no racial requirments on the child that I am seeking. I am so frustrated right now that it hurts to walk pass the room I have prepared for her.
I know that God is teaching me patience and that I am failing miserably. I will just keep waiting because there is nothing more I can do.

What Carla Means |
You are very open. You communicate well, and you connect with other people easily. You are a naturally creative person. Ideas just flow from your mind. A true chameleon, you are many things at different points in your life. You are very adaptable. You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection. You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive. You have the classic "Type A" personality. You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something. You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense. You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun. You are relaxed, chill, and very likely to go with the flow. You are light hearted and accepting. You don't get worked up easily. Well adjusted and incredibly happy, many people wonder what your secret to life is. |

Readers Lend Me Your Eyes and Ears
want to introduce you to one of my favorite authors on earth!
Mrs. Beverly Jenkins
She is an African American author who writes historical and contemporary romance novels, filled with love, lust, mystery, intrigue and for the historical romances some of the most unknown historical facts that you never learned in school.
Ever so often I find myself re-reading her books because they are that good. I just finished Indigo a few days ago and let me tell you I love that book. Indigo is the name given to Hester Wyatt a former slave now a stop on the underground railroad of sorts. She is a rest stop in Michigan for the weary before they head on to Canada. One night she is brought a man that is known only as the Black Daniel (a slave thief) he steals slaves and brings them north to freedom but there is more to the Black Daniel than meets the eye.
Right now I am reading Night Song and it is the story of a Buffalo Soldier and a school teacher. There is alot more to it than that trust me. There is some arson, a few murders and a kidnapping or two.
The books in order of release date per her website are:
Night Song - Cara Henson and Chase Jefferson a teacher and a Buffalo Soldier
Vivid - This one is about a black female doctor, unheard of in that day and a time in a all black town in Kansas.
Indigo - see beginning paragraph
Topaz - is my all time favorite because of Dixon Wildhorse, god knows a man like this can only be created in a book because I don't if God made a man this beautiful or skilled at lovemaking in real life. He is part black and part Seminole Indian and to settle a debt owed to him he accepts the hand of a thief's daughter and believe me there is a little Katherine Wildhorse inside of me. She is a virgin and pretty naive when it comes to dealing with men but she is also a journalist who poses as a man so that she can be published. When he takes her back to his town where he is the Sheriff she joins up with the Dewies (a group of women) and all hell breaks loose. How embarrassing is it to be the sheriff and have to bond your own wife out of jail. Jackson Blake and the Terrible Twins and Griffin Blake are introduced in this book. There is so much more to this story.
Through the Storm - is next and Raimond LeVeq is the hero and if you read Indigo that is where he is first introduced along with the Black Daniel Galen Vachon who also makes an appearance in this book. The heroine in this book is Sable Fontaine which if you know me personally then you know that I use that name as my email address so that should tell you how much I loved this book. Also it is set in New Orleans and everyone knows that I love my city.
The Taming of Jessi Rose - Griffin Blake is the hero or antihero. He is a train robber and the brother of a lawman and he has been freed by Hanging Judge Parker and made a deputy in order to help a town being taken over by a thief. So the judge sends a thief to catch a thief. The Twins show up here, as well as The Preacher, and Dixon Wildhorse. Jessi Rose is the most hated woman in town and the most beautiful, she is hated because she is the last homeowner left who has not sold out to the railroad so she is being harassed and threatened.
Always and Forever - meet Grace Atwood a banker of all things, in a time when women were supposed to just be pretty little air heads. Her fiance leaves her for a woman with more money and she decides to get away from the gossip by leading a bunch of mail order brides ago the county to Kansas for her cousin. The town is being started by men and they need wives. The thing is that Grace knows nothing about wagons trains and needs a wagonmaster, enter tall, luscious Jackson Blake former Texas Lawman and brother to Griffin Blake. He agrees to lead her train because he wants to make his way back to Texas to clear his name. He was run out by a murderous son who killed his own father and blamed Blake. This book is so good and showcases the power of a man's pride and how strong a woman's love for her husband should be.
Before The Dawn - if I have to say that I have a least favorite book by Ms. Jenkins this one is it. Not that it is a bad book but it gives me the creeps. This is the only book that I own by her that I have only read once but I remember everything about the story to this day and it came out 7 years ago. It is a good read but maybe too vivid for me.
A Chance at Love - Loreli Winters is the heroine of this book and of all things she was a female gambler in the 1800's. She was introduced in Always and Forever. She took the trip to Kansas with the other women for adventure because she knew her occupation did not make her a good choice for a wife. You have to read this one.
I will stop here, the next post will give you the remaining books.

Adoption Update
Adoption Update
As some of you may know I am waiting for my blessing from God. I turned down a placement from the adoption agency last week, it was a 4 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. Let me tell you that was a difficult decision to make but I prayed on it and did what God and I decided was best. Passing on those two children hurt my heart a little but I will bounce back.
I now find myself checking my email and my phone repeatedly hoping for that call. Something inside of me tells me that I will know when the right child for me comes along. Part of me thinks that I will have that aha moment, and the other part tells me that I will hear God's voice telling me that she is the one.
Thank you to some of you for your prayers and well wishes. I appreciate the positive and the negative.
I have been wanting to say this for awhile and those of you who read this will know if it is disrected at you or not. Here goes:
God made us all different for a reason, you should never expect a person to change who they are so that you may feel better about who you are. If you are not okay with you then change it. Stop blaming everyone else for your shortcomings, I am not competing with you at all. Everyday that I wake up I just want to be the best me that I can be on that day.
Everyday since I began this adoption journey (this time) I realize that GOD has blessed me to be surrounded by some of the most giving and loving people and I so thankful. I realize that there will always be negative people in the world but I also know that I do not have to have them in my life.
So this is my notice to anyone who has issue with me adopting, thinks that I am wrong for doing this alone or whatever else your issue with me is. Your time is up, I will no longer allow negativity invade my space or my life.
With that being sad to the rest of your lovely people I love you and I thank GOD for your presence in my life. And if you have never thought of adopting or fostering a child let me leave you with this scripture.
"Whoever receives one of these little children in my name receives me and whoever receives me receives not only me but the one who sent me." Mark 9:37

I AM ALMOST THERE
I got a date for my home study and after I stopped crying I got nervous. Ever been screaming and crying on the inside and appear to be cool, calm and collected on the outside. Well that's me.
And I would not be able to do this without GOD. I am so grateful for all of the people who have stood by me.

Lesson Learned
I must say that I learned in the last few months that God does move mountains, especially the ones we erect to keep the pain away. I have learned that when I let go and let GOD do his will things turn out some much better.
I just wish that I could find a goood man, one that can love me the way that I am.

I am back
Not that anyone reads this blog, it's funny that I started blogging on myspace and people actually read it.
Lately I have become addicted to Erica Bunker's sewing blog, as well as Cidell and Tearsa. Oh my God when I grow up I want to sew like these ladies. I am still learning how to thread my machine (because I did not go to the get-to know your machine class at Joann's. I always have to learn things the hard way.
Once I get the machine threaded I will begin working on the curtains for the babies' room.

Adoption - Single Mother by Choice
I am more than a 100% sure that no one has read this blog other than myself but really that is quite okay. I am just here to release all of these words swimming around in my head.
I am struggling with all of this adoption paperwork and really need to get focused and finish it all. I can't say that I did not know that there was so much work because I was fully aware of it.
My goal this weekend is to get it done and also to have it ready to be mailed back to the agency on Monday morning.
I know some people think that I am crazy for wanting to parent alone but to them I state: to a child that has zero parents one that loves and cares for them is better than none at all.
So criticize if you like but while you are sitting on your high horse these children are suffering from abuse and neglect and wishing to just have a place to call home. So until you stand up and do something meaningful to help. GO TO HELL and take your ignorant friends with you!!!
That wasn't nice but it came from the heart.
In my heart I believe that I am prepared for this journey but I am also terrified that it may not go the way I see it in my mind. Oh well say a little prayer for me (if you are the praying type) otherwise just think happy thoughts for me.

Bands of Gold by Angela Benson
My next review will about Bands of Gold by Angela Benson, so far it is going okay and I am half way through with it.
If you have a book that you would like for me to read, please send me the title and the author and I will try to pick it up. Just a warning I do not read street lit, if you think you can persuade me otherwise that is cool but I won’t spend my own money on it. So you can mail me the book and I will read it and review and send it back.

A Risky Affair
A great read!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was impressed by the depth of the characters Solange Washington and Dane Roarke. It was a great story, and I don’t want to give too much of the story away. But I was very surprised by the way Crandall Thorne handled his issues and his past with Tessa.
My favorite character is Daniela because she reminds me of two women I consider my best friends. I would have to say you should pick up this book as soon as possible.
Okay Maureen I believe I have read all of your books so you have a reputation to maintain with me. Please keep them coming.

Favorite Books by Francine Craft
Since I told you in my previous post that Designed for Passion was not my favorite read by Ms. Craft I am going to tell about the books I loved by her.
1. Born to Love you - this book has suspense, murders and love all in one. I hesitate to say this one is my absolute favorite because there are a few more that I will never part with because they were so good.
2. Like this one, Passion’s Fool, which I will go on a limb and state is my favorite of all of the books that I read from her.
But I realized today that she has several books that I was not aware of and I just placed a order with Amazon so that I can get caught up. The Way You Make Me Feel is on my list to read as soon as I receive it.
And for those that have asked, No I don’t think Ms. Craft was rude in her response to my blog. Until my next blog, read on

Suddenly Single by Carmen Green
I just finished reading Suddenly Single and I loved it, Ms. Green did not disappoint with this one. Although I did not realize that this was apart of the Crawford series until Shayla appeared in the story, I love stories that are apart of a series.
At times I could have strangled Trina for being so selfish. It was a good read and Reno of course was my favorite character because he loved his little girl so much and would have done anything for her to speak to him.
I loved the closeness of the family and the way Trina handled the ex-fiance.
This story was a good one and not predictable at all. And I give it 5 out of 5 smileys

Designed for Passion
I just finished this book last night and for the first time I was not really happy with a book by Francine Craft. Don't get me wrong this is not going in my give away box (which is reserved for books that I absolutely hated). As with most books I read this book in about four hours (last night) the first thing that ticked me off was that Meloyde was self conscious which was so sterotypical, (please note some of us love being thick and fabulous) there was no real description of her other than the comments that Jim kept making about her. The lame excuse her mother gave for treating her so badly and then to only slap her again with an off handed remark about Lucia wanting Jim sucked. I wanted her to go off on her mother and her sister. She stood up to Jim when he was just trying to love her but not to the two heifers who caused her pain. She said nothing even when Lucia told her that she was sleeping with Rafael and that the money was intended for her. Next time I hope that Ms. Craft makes her plus sized character a little more fierce. I will rate this book 3 out of 5 smiley faces mostly because of the character Jim and the way he was protrayed. I could close my eyes and see his reactions to certain things. Ms. Craft made him real as could be, and because Papa France and Miss Belle got together to.
